Onami

For my Grampaz 89th birthday we hung out at his favorite seafood buffet. This surpasses Todai and Hokkaido. True story. The quality of food and the people are beyond the beyond.

Dog Day Afternoon

Untuck your shirt, take off your belt, undo that top button on your slacks -this is the feeling of satisfaction. The opportunity for a complimentary lunch and private restaurant pre-gaming is one cannot be passed up. The denizens of Cerritos are blessed to have another restaurant titan in the battle for South and Gridley at the Los Cerritos Center. With names like "BJs," "California Pizza Kitchen," "Lucille's," being embedded in every American's life during the restaurant boom, they have another name to add to the list: Lazy Dog. Lazy Dog is said to be inspired by the owner's life in Wyoming. Kicking back in a lodge with great food and hospitality. A  place to unwind after a hard days work- the feeling of a lazy dog. I honestly don't know what to compare the restaurant to. Think of BJs and Chili's fighting each other and transforming into professional wrestler turned Hollywood, The Rock. Here is some coverage of our private viewing and complimentary meals for lunch. Grand Opening is Wednesday, March 9th, in the evening.

Who wouldn't want a drink from these lovely ladies?

DELI-cious

Went to this deli with a couple of friends. I've been going here for years, but their prices has been slowly increasing. If you're in Chino Hills, stop by. I love delis because of selection and the legendary corned beef. I still need to go to the Deli in Northridge that my dad used to go to. I hear it's the Bee's Knees. This is perhaps one of the more authentic places I've been to. There's beautiful women, a tap, a nice decorations. We had to eat it in the car because we showed up before the place opened.

Yep. You get your money's worth

New Years Day

Still exhausted from Geisha House, another a reunion took place on the beginning of the new year. One of my objectives was to spend more time with my dad's side of the family. The Mateo-Barcelona legacy has to continue. With new faces and friends it was a great way to spend the first evening of 2011.

Stuck on Floor 7.5

I was watching Oldboy again last week, made me want dumplings for 10 years. Cerritos girls wanted to go dumpling adventuring. So, Angie tells me about the successful in cold season, Kal Guk Su chain in Korea. It was good. Free noodle refills is the business. I recommend to go with somebody that speaks Korean.

P.S. It was also nice catching up with you girls. =]

CiCiz Petesa

Xtina + Mars started school today. Sad. On friday we decided to go to Cici's because of all the hype and $5 buffet. $5 buffet means you are getting your money's worth for $5. Believe the Skype, not the hype. The dessert is pretty bomb though. I tried everything except the salad. Decent if you are on a budget like me, who can't really complain.

Mustache Aficionados

I am always on the lookout for good eats in the area. Some people classify me as a connoisseur when it comes to outrageous meals. Still, I disagree with all of them.   For RC's last day in Cali we journeyed to Guasti's, the home of the giant pancake and other giant meals. It is originally a spot for truckers on the road, thus providing with trucker shaped meals to adjust to a trucker type appetite. Place was swell and very homely. Very good food, plus we got a further understanding of the term "poo break." The legend of the Guasti ghost is an interesting story if you happen to be around the area.

At first you think it's a church...

It's the MAD GREEK son!

There's a little gem in Corona called the Mad Greek. It looks like a run down spot, but it's a great hole in the wall place thats been around since the 70s. Very decent prices too. Check it out:

Capitol Seafood

Pretty good and standard Chinese Food. Cool people. It was hectic on Mother's day, but these people got the food dishes down. Located in Westminister, these people do not disappoint, except for holidays

Duck Hunt

There is a little gem in the Westminister area known as Seafood Cove. For decent size portions and a $3 a plate lunch special it is a deal that cannot be missed. As usual, the plan is to order everything they are famous for. I am pleased, though I do prefer capitol seafood's environment and waiters. Score 3/5
