Making Tokyo Littler Once Again

Went to Little Tokyo for the weekend to look for Japanese Vaseline Shampoo and buy Takoyaki from the knockout who makes them. It was a nice day and took plenty of photos on my Yashica TLR. In two weeks the most electrifying Cherry Blossom Festival will return. I can't wait. I like the decorations, buying fish shaped bread, and the women in kimonos. I don't have a spring break because of budget. To make things less interesting I am shooting a lot of events this weekend. Starting with tomorrow until sunday: Club, Party, Club, Party, Party, Party, Easter. I'm gonna be beat this monday. Got my mind on the money, but the money's not enough.

Went to Descanso Gardens to scout out the location for a future engagement shoots and weddings. I now cover a much larger radius, but the clients will have to pay a larger price. Cool area. Close to Old Town Pasadena and a subway. I broke a silver reflected umbrella yesterday during a shoot. I really should invest in buying sandbags for my stands. For 3 more AB800s and an Octobox, plus 3 more light stands...I'm gonna need a bigger boat.

This was another experimental project using a single tungsten light source (lamp) and 2 index cards as reflectors. Background was just a white piece of paper. I'm still working on my budget guerrilla shooting. I own strobes, but sometimes I don't feel like setting up just to shoot stuff in my room. Thinking of selling the Dynalites and just get Bees.

There is a little gem in the Westminister area known as Seafood Cove. For decent size portions and a $3 a plate lunch special it is a deal that cannot be missed. As usual, the plan is to order everything they are famous for. I am pleased, though I do prefer capitol seafood's environment and waiters. Score 3/5

I see these water and nice glass and splash and fruit and etc. pictures everywhere. I have never attempted to do this, so it is a first for me. Using regular white paper and 2 flashlights with colored saran wrap as filters, I have achieved a noteworthy makeshift studio. I would rather do this in a clear toilet and do cake flushing shots as seen here:
If you have a clear toilet you are lucky. I wish I had that kind of money. I don't have any cool fruits to splash, so I used whatever I had. Anyways, here is a mix of what happened:
Nutrigrain Bar w/blue light
Calamansi
Edamane w/ red + green filters. Christmasy. One missed the glass
In-N-Out Ketchup.

I'm COOK!

The title of this entry is a Skins reference. I am not a chef or a culinary genius. I've been cooking mad meals this week using leftovers in our pantry. A lot of this stuff is boring, so I tend to fuse items a lot. I think I'm getting better. "A way to a woman's heart is through an education and cooking" that's partially the reason I gotta make the best of it.
Risotto made with garlic sauce, chicken broth, basil, and cilantro
Parmesan Cheese, flour, bayleaf, basil, egg, tilapia, panko flakes, dashi soup
Rosemary, potatoes, and balsamic vinegar
Risotto/pilaf
Got a clearance salad and added chipotle sauce, ranch, and Mama Sita's adobo flavor
Parmesan tilapia got a little burned, weak.
Dinner for two
Eat and watch this during the Skins S.4 Finale. It makes it more memorable remembering Freddie and seeing Karen McClair (Klariza Clayton <3) in her unmentionables!

Birds of Prey

Saw a vulture the other day in the middle of the street. I didn't know what it was doing so I just grabbed my camera and shot the action. The smell of death was in the air. A Kenny G soundtrack played through my mind as I moved in for a closer look. Vultures are scavengers and not really classified as a raptor because raptors kill their prey using their feet or kill cool hunters named Robert Muldoon while breaking electrical fence security. I eased in as close as I can using my 80-200, and in a crouched position I observed the environment for any vultures attacking from the side.
The Victim: Mr. Squirrel of Heckran Industries
Vulture moving his prey
Mr. Squirrel is a father of 12 and lives in 1346 Underbush Ln. My condolences go out to his family.
Mr. Squirrel was a national celebrity for competing in two Critter Olympics and having an affair with President Squirrel's daughter. He lived for the rush and occasionally him and his families ventured to far off areas during their free time, like Ralph's parking lot. His best friend Francois Rabbit graduated at the top of their class at Elm University in grass region.
Luckily, I has able to put an end to the madness by using a technique Mr. Squirrel taught me in a nonexistent dream: Vultures are scared of those spike things that fall from trees
With great courage and stability, I flung the spike ball with all my might toward Vulture, startling him and sending him away. He will most likely return with reinforcements, but I have stuff to do so I really don't care.
There's kids that lurk on my page. So Mr. Squirrel's corpse would be censored for various reasons. I gave him a proper burial and poured a beer over his grave. One should not enter nirvana without the taste of Guinness of it's lips.
