It's been awhile since I had a craigslist meetup in which the seller didn't flake. I got myself a Yashica EZ-matic which runs on 126 Film. Good stuff. Afterwards I headed to Toys R Us and was so drawn to the mommy hook that I bought it...along with those as seen on TV closet things.

The myth of Persephone, the chthonic goddess of the Underworld, also prominently features the pomegranate. In one version of Greek mythology, Persephone was kidnapped by Hades and taken off to live in the underworld as his wife. Her mother, Demeter (goddess of the Harvest), went into mourning for her lost daughter and thus all green things ceased to grow. Zeus, the highest ranking of the Greek gods, could not leave the Earth to die, so he commanded Hades to return Persephone. It was the rule of the Fates that anyone who consumed food or drink in the Underworld was doomed to spend eternity there. Persephone had no food, but Hades tricked her into eating six pomegranate seeds while she was still his prisoner and so, because of this, she was condemned to spend six months in the Underworld every year. During these six months, when Persephone is sitting on the throne of the Underworld next to her husband Hades, her mother Demeter mourns and no longer gives fertility to the earth. This became an ancient Greek explanation for the seasons. Dante Gabriel Rossetti's painting Persephona depicts Persephone holding the fatal fruit. It should be noted that the number of seeds that Persephone ate varies, depending on which version of the story is told. The number of seeds she is said to have eaten ranges from three to seven, which accounts for just one barren season if it is just three or four seeds, or two barren seasons (half the year) if she ate six or seven seeds. There is no set number.

Capital Seafood in Garden Grove is often overlooked. They provide exceptionally great seafood as well as service. It's pretty much a hole-in-the wall type restaurant, but their combination of chinese and thai cuisine pretty much separates the men from the boys when comparing other asian restaurants.

The annual blog entry depicting the best of this year. If you followed/lurked my old blogs on Myspace and Xanga these entry have continued for 9 years. Tomorrow I'll do a top 50 of the Decade. But for now...the top 10 moments of 2009:
10. Mammoth Bread From Zion Market.
Look at this bread. It's insane looking. Anything food with "mammoth" in front of it is already fit for the gods.

9. Pajama/Lingerie Party.
Lots people. Lots of pictures. Cool DJ. Yelling in the streets. Cold Jacuzzi. TSD's first appearance. Glad I got to shoot something like this. Thanks Gazebo.

8. Clothing Meetups
I received a phone call from a group of students who need to have their club promoted as well as photographing miscellaneous adventures. Very successful turnout and the rebirth of my radio personality Mr. Int3rlud3. Great sponsors and free hookups to events. Thanks guys
7. Adventures with Kimbo.
Yea, she's so awesome. Breaking shit and going into places we don't belong. I miss kicking it with her. But whenever a boyfriend comes along, it usually becomes the end of a friendship. This girl knows me inside and out.
6. Kawawa Worldwide Release.
Finally, a place where I can make fun of everything.

5. Orochon Ramen.
The challenge in which me and TJC fought viciously until we failed. I went crazy for several hours. I don't remember what happened afterwards.

Christmas Games 2009.

This Christmas was amazing. So many families gathered under one roof to celebrate Christmas. The Calacsan, Gonzales, Barcelona, Pascua, Isidro, Almodovar, Magante, and Casim families came through. As an annual tradition, the Christmas Games went on. The Original Funny Walk Champion Czar Jaron (Jon ^2) proved himself victorious once again. We had the typical Bunot Events with a white elephant tradition, that has engraved itself into our family history. Great food too. The Spaghetti, Thai Wraps, Chicken Cutlet, Ham, and Auntie Evita's Cake made their way into our bellies and granted us the gift of satisfaction. I brought my portable studio with me as well for some family pictures. I wanted to get a huge epic family picture, but no one seemed interested to do it at the time because it was very cold and people were tired.

2 more days til Christmas. How intense. This year went by incredibly fast, but I still feel like I haven't accomplished anything very significant in my precious little life. I requested not to receive anything for the holidays because I don't have anything in particular that I am in "need" of. All my requests lean to the luxury side, and because I am limiting my self to such items I will have a much more stricter New Year's Resolution which I haven't though of yet.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Colbie Caillat yesterday. She's a very sweet girl and easy to approach. The fact is she approached me and asked me about my camera. Shortly after introducing her to the magic of DSLRs I gave her my card and we had a little conversation starting. We talked about how Sloths were the most underappreciated animal in the animal kingdom. Then we transitioned to amusement parks after we spoke of Zoos. Funny girl. I just don't like that she called me "random" I loathe that word because it doesn't make any sense especially if you had true intentions to speak of such things.

The Return of Philip Calacsan
at

Explosions everywhere! The ultimate surviving warrior, Philip Calacsan, has returned after being trained my numerous grandmasters who were then murdered by an unknown faction. Philip Calacsan's trek back to California was extremely dangerous due to the rival forces after his knowledge. He did not lag behind and crossed the great Mississippi with branches from the surrounding forests. He encountered Schalarm, a wandering musician who helped assist him across the great plains. Schalarm attempted to steal Philip Calacsan's knowledge while he was sleeping, but Philip Calacan anticipated that this musician would try to steal his knowledge. In the middle of the night, Philip Calacsan swapped places with a jackfruit tree and made his escape through the breezy night. He then called upon his dragon, Aerok, to transport him across the plains. While venturing through the great Rocky Mountains, Philip Calacsan and Aerok entered Dongmyojin's territory because it was the shortest route to the desert. Dongmyojin became aware of another dragon present in his territory so a fierce aerial dogfight had begun. In the end, Philip Calacsan had slayed Dongmyojin and presented it's head to the people of the Narcus Village where they were under the control of this tyrant. They awarded Philip Calacsan with beads and shells before he left the village and into the desert. The unknown faction had been tracking Philip Calacsan with hopes to obtain the knowledge, but due to extreme weather conditions they advanced back into hiding, lurking into the shadows until the next Olonax Harvest Festival begins. Halfway into the great desert, Philip Calacsan must depart from Aerok because he will be entering Death Valley. No one has survived this trek. All those who tried. Failed. Surprisingly, Philip Calacsan made it through Death Valley where he ventured into LAX where he was to rendezvous with the Calacsan Boys.
