Sir Viche

I've been on that ceviche tip every tuesday and thursday during lunch. Fresh and Easy helped me out. For $0.98 you can get a whole mess of tortillas. Plus, the one in Riverside has a lot of stuff on the clearance section because not much people go during the mid-hours. I always score on seafood stuff thats about to get thrown out in 4 days. The ceviche is like $1.50. So I spend almost $3 for the day. Every Tu/Th I'm either on that seafood spread, alaska salmon mix, or shrimo ceviche all on my corn tortillas. It gets me through a whole day.

Foodsense

Been using the George Forman grill a lot lately. I didn't have any bacon, so I used ham. Made some ham wrapped hot dogs with grilled onions, cheese whiz, japanese mayo, and horseradish mustard. Swell.

Stand Alone Complex

I had a lot of extra beef and jalapeños at my place. I decided to make a burger. By mixing ground beef, jalapeños, tomato, cayenne pepper, furikake, mushroom pieces, and egg, I created a medley of awesome.

Mixture looked like this:

I was too lazy to use the pan so the homie George Foreman fired it up

I took my time to shape out the right patty. The left was made afterwards because I realized I'm gonna eat it anyways so I don't really care how it looks.

Good ol American. I originally wanted to make a Jucy Lucy, but I got lazy shaping around the cheese

I ran out of buns and sandwich bread so I used some pan de sal

BREASTS

There's like 50 boneless chicken breast fillets at my house. It was supposed to be for a party, but everybody flaked. So for the past 6 days I'll been eating chicken breasts for lunch.

Added Garlic Salt, Furikake, and Curry Powder

Swell.

I'm gonna get a blue Cheki today and possibly a new watch to replace what has been stolen. Maybe even a phone. Gotta build my karma up though!

Yakulting

I really had a hankering for yakult one day and I bought a pack from a family seafood mart. The price is ridiculous at $3, but they also sell an alternative version for about a buck. The generic brands lack the quality probiotic skimmed milk drenched in bacterium used to make this masterpiece, instead they rely heavily on the fermentation of the skimmed milk, which sounds very unappealing to me. If you watch the Korean movie "Sad Movie" one of the characters downs an entire goblet of Yakult. It was the most awesome thing ever. Which leads me to the American Yakult commercial. Instead of showing dancing kawaii creatures enjoying a drink, they go into health details and all that crazy nonsense, Japanese commercials always win. Always.  The Japanese people take forever to drink this tiny gulp, some even have the audacity to poke a small hole through the top. I have no idea how that will satisfy them.

I'm COOK!

The title of this entry is a Skins reference. I am not a chef or a culinary genius. I've been cooking mad meals this week using leftovers in our pantry. A lot of this stuff is boring, so I tend to fuse items a lot. I think I'm getting better. "A way to a woman's heart is through an education and cooking" that's partially the reason I gotta make the best of it.

Eat and watch this during the Skins S.4 Finale. It makes it more memorable remembering Freddie and seeing Karen McClair (Klariza Clayton <3) in her unmentionables!

Takoyaki, the Engraved Memory.

My favorite Japanese street foods are okonomiyaki and takoyaki. 10 years ago I first tried takoyaki, or octopus balls from a corner stand in Little Tokyo. It was the most awesome party in my mouth (think about those reese's puffs cereal commercials. It was kinda like that). I then set on a quest to make this recipe that changed my perspective on Japanese food culture. Sure, there's plenty of youtube videos or online guides I can reference to, but that destroys the fun of making this meal. Everything was pure experimentation with a twist. I used a pancake puff because the takoyaki grills are too expensive.
This makes 14 balls or 2 servings:

Batter:
2/3 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup dashi soup mix
2/3 cup panko flakes

Filling:
1/2 lb. chopped cooked octopus
1/4 cup pickled ginger
1/3 cup chopped green onions.

Decoration:
Dried Bonito Shavings
Mayonaise
Okonomikayi Sauce
Aonori
Chopped green onions

Buzzer Beat French Toast

Made by Yamapi in Buzzer Beat. Good Series btw. Keiko Kitagawa is so hot. :

"Kamiya Naoki is a young player from a professional basketball team. But due to his relatively smaller size and his tendency to crack under pressure, he is unable to show his true skills on the court. Meanwhile, Shirakawa Riko is a cheerful, strong-spirited music college graduate aiming to become a professional violinist. One day, Riko finds Naoki's lost cell phone on a bus, and their meeting begins a friendship that eventually turns into love. However, Naoki was already considering marriage with his current girlfriend. And it doesn't help matters that Naoki's coach has fallen in love at first sight with Riko!"

I also added a little twist to the recipe

I used this stuff:
