Oh Lily Pad

Had a shoot with the homegirl Lily Figuera. Lots of fun and many sets. These are from the LegoCam set. These are not the best of the set because my rule of thumb is to never post my best work on here. She's a nice girl to work with. Ye. Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Speak the Hungrarian Rapper, Blue Scholars, Macklemore, Cee-Lo, and Linkin Park spinning through the shoot. Thanks PG!

Stains

I had 2 speedlights charged, so I just went up to a wall and shot in my room. This one of those shoots I do to kill time or get my mind off of internal medicine. Countdown to Christmas 2010.

Beauty is So Solitary

For the past month I've had numerous photoshoots. The most I ever had in awhile. The thing is...majority of them are studio shoots using a white backdrop. I love the white backdrop, but for 2 weeks straight I shot on a white backdrop. I want to shoot more on location stuff. Fall is also a great season for portraits and everything. Out of the 50 different portrait shoots I had this past month. I will provide some samples of various shots chosen at random. I think I should increase my price to $50-100 a session, instead of the $40 + MUA. I don't wanna be known as the cheapo shooter. The clients enjoy my work whether it being in my garage or their location. I try to bring a little entertainment to the table. So book me, before I increase my prices and get all super into school mode.

Family Sessions

I am currently booking family photo sessions for $40 for 3 hours. On-location or studio. You get as many wardrobe changes you like, plus a MUA is provided. I also retouch the photos if you want for an extra $10. Prints cost extra, but all clients get a digital negative of the images. Processed and unprocessed. Here's a sample from a recent studio shoot I had this month:

MarGie 22 vs. 21

Dinner + Surprise party for Marvi (22) and Angie (21). It was swell, good decor and decent studio setup. The backdrop was a last minute thing. After coming from LA then to Long Beach for the Civil War reenactment, I had to setup the studio and such before dinner. Since joining Lifetouch photography all I have been doing are paid assignments with licensed images all week. I usually charge $40-60 an hour for this type of event, but I gave my Cerritos girls a discount of $free.99 just because. Yeah, just because. I even employed my glamor techniques on the studio images. Happy birthday again you two.

Current Nonsense

I used Vegnagun (My dual speedlite setup from the last entry) for this shoot. Put the pole between my mattress and used one of those free posters from Hot Import Nights 2003 as the backdrop. It came out decent. I usually do this before practicing people portraits, but just changing the size ratio. Came out kinda grey and weak, and the flooring would look much better with a reflective surface. Vegnagun only works well outdoors. That is my conclusion.

Livid Echoes

This was another experimental project using a single tungsten light source (lamp) and 2 index cards as reflectors. Background was just a white piece of paper. I'm still working on my budget guerrilla shooting. I own strobes, but sometimes I don't feel like setting up just to shoot stuff in my room. Thinking of selling the Dynalites and just get Bees.

Hydrotherapy

Photobucket

I see these water and nice glass and splash and fruit and etc. pictures everywhere. I have never attempted to do this, so it is a first for me. Using regular white paper and 2 flashlights with colored saran wrap as filters, I have achieved a noteworthy makeshift studio. I would rather do this in a clear toilet and do cake flushing shots as seen here:
If you have a clear toilet you are lucky. I wish I had that kind of money. I don't have any cool fruits to splash, so I used whatever I had. Anyways, here is a mix of what happened:

Lightboxing in the Shadows

Used a single fluorescent light and piece of photopaper as a reflector for this setup. Pretty simple.

Ghetto Studios 2009

Made some use of my lightsphere by using a piece of blue construction paper I found laying around and a CD case cover.
