Import Scenes

I'm registering for classes tomorrow. Hopefully I get into the program this time around. Goal is to achieve a D3 or D700 by April and a 24-70 f/2.8 by May. Gotta be frugal and stay on my grind. skrind. I have a mega budget for the next few months, so I'll be in hermit mode for the time being. 2-3 shoots a week should be ok to handle. I need to start doing trade for gas shoots too.

I'm moving

I'm in the process of moving the blog over to wordpress. My site is almost done. I just gotta code more flash and it should be good to go. I have a lot of new work, but I'm unable to post due to contract issues. In 5 years...get STRONGER!!!

ReOrganization

So my room is overcrowded. My room is a square so everything looks crowding. I'm getting rid of a lot of stuff and I'll hopefully have it complete by mid-june if nothing hectic comes in the way. I'll post pictures of the process plus my parting of ways with items of sentimental value.

My bed is waaay to big for my room. I had no idea what my mom was thinking when this happened. The shoes take up a lot of room and so does the dresser. The plan is to move the dresser into the hallway to act as a station to house dvds and files. The area between the shelf and computer desk is filled with photo related equipment such as strobes, softboxes, and lightstands. My goal is to free up a corner in my room for usage of a makeshift studio

My final look is going to as close to this as I can get. The corner is now free and a housing area for the photostuff is still undecided. I'll alternate between a futon and sofabed just to make things more interesting. I gonna get those stackable cubes from target to house all my various gear in at the table closet to door. I will also replace my computer desk with a much smaller and simpler design.

I'm currently 1/2 through my closet. I have over 80 shirts?! I didn't even wear most of em. We'll a few hoodies are going to ebay and the rest towards donation. I'm getting tired of always wearing stussy and obey shirts and seeing people at the exact location with the same shirt. It's cool though. I actually added all my shoes to the right side and it's running pretty smoothly. Unfortunately I am only dividing the squares into 2 squares.

 

Maybe I'll paint one door red and one blue...just for photo purposes.

Haven't updated in awhile. Sorry. I've been busy with lots of stuff: School, Work, Life. Lots of events going on this whole week. I've been sleeping 4 hours daily. If you are not struggling you are not living. So struggle with love.

Preemptive Strike

I've had a camera almost my whole life. I shot with an Olympus point and shoot until 2003 when I bought a Sony Cybershot camera. I always saved up money just to buy film to play around with my dad's old SLR. I finally jumped to the DSLR wagon when I saved enough money from work. At the same time rangefinders began to interest me. Still, I do not consider myself a photographer. I am not worthy yet of a title like "photographer" I am more like a photo enthusiast. I am evaluating most of my shots at the moment and I see a huge difference in how much I've grown. This entry is dedicated to the anniversary of my first DSLR. The picture above is one of my favorite shots. To others it seems like a really crappy picture, but it was a bokeh experiment for me. So here's a list of things I want to accomplish and improve (master) within 5-7 years:

Irritated by Ebay

Today I received an email that the rangefinder camera I ordered a week ago cannot be sent. This is because this seller had his account closed by ebay. He begins to explain his situation, which is very kind of him, but explains he cannot refund the money and I would have to file a dispute to paypal. After several minutes of filing a dispute he RELISTS the same item AGAIN. Now I'm pissed. I contact ebay and file a complaint toward him. Realistically you are not supposed to trust anyone online with your money, but I've been ordering stuff for years, it's become somewhat of an addiction. Don't Judge me. I find another seller selling the camera for a few bucks higher and use the buy it now option because I'm sick of waiting. I always find myself becoming impatient suddenly what things do not come into plan, this however leads to my impulsiveness. On top of buying a new rangefinder I purchase a battery to top it off. My original goal of purchasing a 10' x 20' vinyl backdrop has been delayed about $70. Ouch....So in response I have to let go of one of my good lenses. A trusty Tokina 28-70mm f/2.8 MF. This is really sharp and I love the build of Tokina because it feels comfortable with a Nikon. I'm planning to sell my Tamron Lenses pretty soon. Since my goal at the end of the week is not achieved. I am extremely irritated at the moment. I need to take my mind off things. Perhaps reviews some movies or books? I need to breathe more like into my blog. Shooting is therapeutic. I have way too many un-uploaded pictures, in the meantime...I need to balance out all my money because Christmas is approaching and so far I haven't gotten people gifts, my mom needs one the most, so she is the top priority. Plus I need the 10' x 20' vinyl by the holidays. Oh man...I most like have enough just to get by.

Harbringer

Haven't updated in awhile. Been super busy. Will start going out to shoot more outdoorsy and themed subjects this weekend. I'm 30% within my purchase goal for this year. I'm pretty happy. After that goal is another goal: The Alien Bees strobe set...ouch my account is gonna take a beating. But I've been busy with classes, work, and other things. I've been sick too. Made a new cellphone blog if interested. That and my tumblr blog are my daily life philosophies and rambling. I'll post pictures tomorrow if I feel like it.

I'm Suppossed to Be...

...workin on my midterm. I don't know where to start. It's annoying. 14 pages of bullshit and pointless rambling only to be summarized at the beginning and end of the paper. For the first time in my life I am bothered by an assignment. I might do it tomorrow. Then again I might not because LB comicon is also tomorrow. Perhaps tomorrow night or sunday I'll hit it out of the park. It's due wednesday night, but I enjoy stressing and showing equal amounts of anxiousness towards every assignment I receive.

Renaming Process

So I'm gonna change all the tags from now on. Instead of int3rlud3.com it'll just say "Nick Barcelona" without "photography" because I'm not a professional and I don't really care. The tag by itself already presents the reader that the work has come from my camera or am participating in something related. This is because I plan to change the url once the year is over. Perhaps Nickbarcelona.com because I'm tired of people getting confused with int3rlud3 because I always forget to tell people its a mispelling of the word "interlude" lately this has annoyed me so during the transition some int3rlud3 tags will appear. Also I plan to go photobucket pro so I can upload more random ass things and finally get rid of the ads. It's around $20 so it should last me a good year, that means I don't have to hold back anymore while shooting things. Expect to see it pro in the beginning of july. Maybe i'll transfer other photos just because I have the storage space now. We'll see.

Updating

Decided to give me blog a new look so I added labels at the bottom for easier browsing, also trying to clean up most of my random pictures I added to my blog. I might just keep a couple of labels. Word on the street is now active and I'm filling it up with my old posts. Enjoy.

My Female Dilemma

I am now stuck in a downward spiral. There has been various chances thrown and now I compiled the list of women to narrow the search for my counterpart.

Girl A - The epitome of dream girls. The only girl I get super shy and weird around. She is smart, sweet, and kind. The thing is I don't understand her. It ends up being friendship in short spurts. Very soluable, but she is the one I desire the most. Met her at a party.

Girl B - An enigma. We hang out everyday after class and even nap at times. She went to the same college with me before and we're on the same path towards our careers. She dresses amazing, I like that. Met her at school.

Girl C - Wild crazy and free. Got snakebites just because she can. She has no real goals, but likes to work hard. It is possible she is a savant. She eats more than me and maintains her figure, we spent an entire evening talking about wrestling and fighting. She has an obssession with purple. Met her at church.

Girl D - A good friend, but I am slowly getting attatched to her. She's a staightedge girl, religious, and also very goal oriented. We think similarly and both gotten our hearts broken from previous relationships. Met her at school.

Girl E - I've known her for a while. We were really close at a point, but then stopped talking after she obtained a boyfriend. She's now looking for a shoulder. The downside is she is a freshman in college. Clueless and naive, but she shares similar interests in culture with me. Met her at a show.

Girl F - Another girl from my past. We used to talk a lot and recently reconnected. She still thinks of me as the dry humor type of person, but she is willing to end a relationship soon. I choose not to wreck homes, but deep down there is something. Met her at a blood drive.

Girl G - Very pretty. Perfect proportions and is way into photography. We occasionally go on adventures. She cooks amazingly and her eyes sparkle. I was sprung the first time I met her. Met her through a friend.

Girl H - At first she hated me and wanted to figure out about me. She didn't know I was generally a nice guy. She is very defensive and is too much of a hopeless romantic. She wants an adventurous life. Unfortunately she is stuck at home for the majority of the time. Met her through a friend.

Girl I - The only girl who called me at night to check up on me everynight after my heartbreak. Recently she has experienced the same thing. She's a sweet girl and is soft spoken. She studies harder than anyone I know, but we grew closer only to become rivals in our fields. She is good friends with Girl H. Met her through a friend.

Girl J - The woman who is always looking out for her friends. We used to speak constantly, but slowly it has died out. Her past has a bad reputation, but after HS, she turned her self around to become a better person. Met her at a party.

Girl K - Extreme stoner and drinker. She likes to party all the time, but at the end of the day she regrets what she's done. She's a funny girl, but is confused on her future. We share the same interests in food. Met her through a friend.
