Where the Heart Is...

I've always been a fan of stop motion flicks and I've seen many transcontinental journeys, but this one is unique. I goes across various angles and such. The video is pretty old. People are just hyping it up now.

Southern Swamp

Just got back from a 12 mi nature walk hike. Braving paths, scary children, dams, rocks, and other trail related elements. I got up at my usual time and got a quadruple shot a starbucks. We got to the location and we ventured off into the heart of darkness. It was another 12 mi back, so I accomplished 24 miles today running on only whoppers and water. I posted a picture of food because I was hungry as my status update. Then went to an event at 6pm. It's been a long day.

Gunkata Vs. Gymkata

So there's 2 awesome movies involving the word "kata" but which is more effective?

Gunkata as seen in Equilibrium:

Gymkata as seen in GYMKATA

Let me lay out the facts:
GUNKATA

  • Guns kill people
  • Reload time lag
  • Projectiles
  • Can kidnap people
  • Expensive
GYMKATA
  • Gym never killed anyone
  • Pommel horses become revealed in the middle of cities
  • Close Combat. More skill
  • Can join a dance crew
  • Cheap
I would go with gymkata because I wanna learn how to backflip and climb up the stairs on my hands. I'm more of a grenade/shot gun/assault rifle person. Handguns are not my thing.

The World that Never Was

It's been a year since I've been to Disneyland. I don't have an annual pass like all the cool Californians. I don't like lines and those tough guys seen with their children on rides that don't make any sense. I just go to take pictures. Professional lurker 101. I rehashed my old pictures. Trying to see a new type of color/detail that I missed before.

Sucker for Cornrolls

Sucker Punch = Society's Trump Card

Biggest Bear in the World

Last weekend I went to Big Bear lake with some family for one night. It gave me a chance to relax from all my on location shoots. My primary reason was my cousin's engagement shoot. We were having too much relaxation time so the idea just flew away. If we stayed one more night it would've been possible, but I do wish I could've practiced some foresty shots. 1st day = Good tuna, speedboating. 2nd day = rain. Rain during the summer is awesome. I plastic bagged my DSLR and gave it a makeshift rainsleeve. It's only 45 mins from my place, so I'll return sometime in the fall for a more seasonal shoot. I ate too much there. Nonstop BBQ. End of Mountains.

The Chronicles of Czarina

It was my youngest cousin's bday yesterday. She turned 5, and is totally ready to take on preschool with the strength of dragons.  I am also one of her ninongs so I have to look out for her and introduce new interests to her in any way possible. Lots of food too. This was also a Bon Voyage party too for the Calacsan residents of the Willow Branch. The next time I will see them will be in September. I wish I could've gone to the Philippines this year.

Oh Munn

I'm supposed to be at comicon today....=[
For those that do not know. I'm probably one of the only members of OMFG (olivia munn fan group) that hails from the land of Corona. She had a book signing in Torrance. For those who have no clue of who she is, she is basically the queen of the geeks. I went to Spocom first, then the signing, and finally Jazz Reggae fest. It was a long day...

Mustache Aficionados

I am always on the lookout for good eats in the area. Some people classify me as a connoisseur when it comes to outrageous meals. Still, I disagree with all of them.   For RC's last day in Cali we journeyed to Guasti's, the home of the giant pancake and other giant meals. It is originally a spot for truckers on the road, thus providing with trucker shaped meals to adjust to a trucker type appetite. Place was swell and very homely. Very good food, plus we got a further understanding of the term "poo break." The legend of the Guasti ghost is an interesting story if you happen to be around the area.

IR Failure

It looks like my IR filter is scratched beyond repair. I also need a tripod that is sturdy enough to hold my wide angle lens without slipping. I've been practicing a lot with IR, but my filter is showing progressive signs of wear. My D60 IR convert has failed me. I want to get it repaired. Too many expenses this month =/

I like it, but windy weather + 30sec shutter is not a good idea.

The color of foliage changes because it is the sunlight being reflected off the leaves. IR filter only captures those waves.

..... And now it's only a matter of time before this "Lost World"

I've always been doing some kind of blogs since 7th grade. I am dedicating a page to point and shoot photos I snap along the way. Here is my order of pages if you've been following:

Xanga: I had like 5 accounts mostly just various news and reposting
LiveJournal: Pissed off entries. Me complaining about being a teen, etc.
Myspace: My blogs got really popular and had a lot of subscribers and such
Blogger: First official URL. Majority is photo blog Currently posting on this until I gain more HTML knowledge. Had some decent feedback. Forum people hating on me. Cool Stuff
Tumblr: Mostly just listing ideas and thoughts. Another is for 35mm film posting, and another for old 2002 Sony cybershot snaps
Wordpress: I prefer posting on here, but it is a bit pricey for html editing plus domain name. Once I improve my knowledge and gain more patience I'll make the switch and transfer.

Best Scene Ever

The world's most epic fight scene from Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece, The Room. If you haven't seen it watch it now! When I worked at Blockbuster only 4 people checked it out. I was one of them. Download it. Put the movie poster as your desktop background too.

7 months later...

Read More if you want to hear me ramble about expensive stuff:

They Call Me Diddy

On our adventure to LA, the WestCo Calacsans stopped by Diddy Riese to try some kind of awesome. We trekked over to Christine's pad and whatnot, then the drive to Santa Monica Pier. Unfortunately I couldn't stay that long and take pictures because I had the 2nd part of my interview. Still crossing my fingers and waiting. In retrospect this was a fun 2 car journey. It forced Christine, Tina, RC, and Resa to take public transportation because I was a primary ride. Oh well. More adventures for them.

Wanna Get High?

Let's go iDosing! Kids today are ridiculous. Apparently you can get high via ipods or music output devices. Get your mind simulated and look like an idiot at the same time. There's also mad gigs of IDose noise on various bittorrent sites.

Put on headphones and sample:

Sharptooth Likes Chicharon

Another night of awesome movies at Long Beach. The Land Before Time is one of the most electrifying movies in Dinosaur entertainment. I'm a Dino fan boy. I'm proud of it. It was a long day: Fullerton, Anaheim, Costco, West Covina, Drinking with uncle Danny while eating mad chicharon, Ryan Calacsan of Ryan Calacsan Photography of University of Illinois of Crystal Lake of Calacsan, Sidestreet all the way to Long Beach, Garumin vs. Iphone, Banana Bay.

Jeremy's Photography. Give him 2 weeks and he'll surpass me:
