The finale of all my NYC related posts. It was a grand adventure and I wish to do it again before the year is over. Maybe I can win the lotto one day and make something interesting happen.
Finally got a see a city skyline view from the city. The Rockefeller center would be awesome to go to at sunset...well there's always next time. I need a strong tripod too. Gray's Papaya and pizza for dinner. Called it a night. Supposed to see train perform, but that was in the morning. Kerambits
Long day. Packed plenty of adventure in it before nightfall: put my parka into use by braving a storm and heading to B&H to pick up a gift, did a promo shoot w/ Jamaal for The Onion, Museum of Sex, Madison Square Park, Shake Shack, Les Halles, Grand Central Terminal, New York Public Library, Chipotle, and Pottery shoot. This post packs a punch.
I hate sleeping in. I especially hate sleeping in when I'm not at my stomping grounds. Once again I woke up early to go to Central Park and get my Macaulay Culkin on. Saw some John Lennon related nonsense, fountains of youth, turtles, movie locations, and shop mom shop while liking birds.
Strawberry Fields. Anti-beatles movement here:
Tim joined me too. We went to see "Imagine" not for John Lennon, but for a disney imagination
Went with Taha to Midtown to catch up with the Fam and watch Jamaal x Brick to their show. After the event was a mixer and Tim and Phil were forced to sign up. Hit up 2 bars afterwards and got a little tipsy, then went to Koreatown for some watermelon soju and ruined some Korean guy's lunchbox style inventory at 3am. Great night.
Went to SoHo for some shopping and finally went to UNIQLO. My NYC steeze is now Brooklyn Industries and Uniqlo. Great products. Wandered around for a bit and ate at a decent Italian restaurant. Then took a sub to Greenwich Village, watched a game at The Cage, metup with Taha, ate at some asian restaurant, did some headshots, and headed back midtown. Interesting afternoon.
Woke up early to walk the Brooklyn bridge and for the enjoyment of Tim Horton's. I had my models flake on me today after I had to go back to the hotel to get my equipment. Pretty weak...but I'll do more research next time and make it unstoppable.
Went to Katz's Deli and a Yankee game. Katz's was awesome...the whole Corned Beef x Pastrami combo is the heat. I didn't bring my SLR to the game, but it was against the Oakland A's. Pretty interesting. Had a couple drinks and pizza and called it a night.
Woke up a few hours later in a daze. Stumbling and hungover I headed to Times Square so I can be on Good Morning America. I didn't have a sign, but the crowd was cool. Tim Horton's for breakfast at Times Square. The good life.
Favorite night in NY. Truly a night on the town. Inebriation nation. Went to Hell's Kitchen to try the amazing Five Napkin Burger. Drank. Went to Times Square for yelling. Drank. Corned Beef and Hot Wings. Drank. Contemplated Life. Drank. Best Night Ever.
Checked into the Affinia right next to square garden. But first, we ventured into 5 Pointz and got yelled at for taking pictures. Totally worth it. Had some Dunkin Donuts...actually I think I had at least some kind of donut everyday during Manhattan stay. I was also overwhelmed by the power that is B & H photo video audio....I order from them all the time. The fact that I finally stepped into their store is beyond me.
Went to a KBBQ joint where they dish out live seafood. Watched the undersea creatures get boiled to death while getting drunk. I learned Korean slightly after.
Hustle here...hustle there. Brooklyn is all about the hustle. Wandered around Park Slope to look for some gifts and it started raining. We ate at a cool Vietnamese restaurant, then went to Brooklyn Industries (now one of my favorite stores) and bought a backpack, ventured to Coney Island in the rain and ate an Nathan's to taste how the dog is supposed to be cook. Good stuff.
Another day in Crooklyn. City of Kings. Phil drove the mean streets of New York and we ended up at a Prospect Park. Pretty awesome. We went to a food truck gathering, Brooklyn Library, Vale of Cashmere, got lost, Battlefields, met with Hari, walked the dogs home. Interesting day. Japanese Girls!
...Like a shroud it covers Bleecker Street. Rendezvous with Camille and family at Bleecker St. Pizza. Gotta admit that it's the best NY pizza I tasted during my stay here. Afterwards we got some gelato, visited some shoppes, attended a street fair, NYU, and ended up Washington Square Park.
Another trip to the City. Manhattan was hosting a summer fest where you can rent bikes and ride along the closed city streetz. Unfortunately, we arrived late so we missed out. In the angrytime we went to a popular improv theater for some drinks and tale swapping.
